Drop One Hundred Twenty-eight
Psalms 100
“Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth. Serve the LORD with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. Know that the LORD Himself is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name. For the LORD is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations ” (NASB1995).
I left my day job yesterday knowing that I would be off today. After more than 30 years of working, there is little that is more gratifying than an extra day off. My goal to focus on house and home started once I arrived home. Which led to forgetting a prior commitment. By the time it was brought to my attention, the only thing I could do was admit my forgetfulness. Thankfully, the friends that checked on me were more concerned regarding my welfare and did not condemn my forgetfulness. I set an alarm on my phone to remind me of this commitment going forward. It is something that brings joy to me, those I serve with and those that are served. I am so thankful that God is always faithful.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for opportunities of rest – even when related to forgetfulness. All of creation obeys You. You have given each of us the choice whether to obey or not. Help us to remember Your faithfulness and choose to be more like You. Thank You that Your love for us demonstrates Your goodness. You are worthy of our praise. Without You, we can do nothing. With You, nothing is impossible. Fill us with Your Spirit so we may better serve others through Your power and bring honor and glory to You.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
