Drop One Hundred Thirty-nine
John 3:13 - 18
“No one has ascended into heaven, except He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man. And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the word might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.” (NASB2020).
Today is Good Friday, April 3, 2026. Today we solemnly remember the gravity of our situation. Jesus came, lived the perfect life, chose His leaders to share the Gospel before they even knew what their true message was, and demonstrated the depth of God’s love for all mankind through choosing to do the will of the Father – sacrifice Himself to pay our debt of sin. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). In the Easter Cantata by Joseph M. Martin (2003), “The Rose of Calvary” it states in the segment “Call to Repentance”: “Let not conscience make you linger, nor of fitness fondly dream; all the fitness He requireth is to feel your need of Him”. We all have a desire to be better. Without Jesus, better is not an option. Trust Him. He loves you so much He suffered and died on the cross. But even better than that – on the third day, He resurrected from the dead!
Heavenly Father,
You are Faithful, Sovereign, and Holy. Without You, we are and have nothing. Forgive us our transgressions. Fracture our hearts of stone and place within us hearts of flesh. May we seek to bring honor and glory to You as we share Your love for our neighbors. Help us to see and meet the needs of others through Your eyes. Teach us to love well.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
