Drop One Hundred Nineteen

Philippians 1:6

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (NASB1995).

Before I share my spiritual journey for this week, I want to thank you for reading. It is my hope and prayer that these tidbits from my life help you walk closer with Jesus.

Over the past month or so, the light in my range hood above the stove was flickering. It was like the bulb had an on-again off-again relationship with the electrical circuits. Sometimes, it served its purpose, other times, not at all. I suppose it could be described as a fickle Christian – today I will walk with the Lord, tomorrow, I’ll do it my way. It is so difficult to depend on the fickle-minded. Never really knowing if they will actually show up when there is a need. I have been the fickle-Christian. The double minded person unsure of the next step to take and looking at the wrong resources for direction. Don’t believe me – my children will attest to it. Taking a good look at the problem helps with finding the answer. I had a big heart problem. Not physically so much, but spiritually. Acknowledging and diligently working on removing the hardened, ugly, non-functioning parts of my heart has required quite the overhaul. The Holy Spirit is diligently working in me, and I am so grateful. And much like my rangehood, as the poor functioning part is removed and replaced, the light shines consistently and brighter.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for choosing us. Thank You for the rising and setting sun of each day. Thank You for opportunities to serve You. Thank You for loving and forgiving us before we even asked. Teach us to honor You. Help us to keep Your commandments (love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul and all our strength and love our neighbors as ourselves), for in keeping Your commandments we demonstrate our love for You. May the world see You living through each of us.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
