Drop One Hundred Four

1 Corinthians 12:4 -7

“Now there are varieties of gifts but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons.” (NASB1995).

Near the beginning of my career as a nurse, there was a patient struggling with sleeping at night. The doctor prescribed a sleeping pill, and the patient consistently declined to take it. One evening, I offered the sleeping pill, and we discussed the concerns. That patient and I are a lot alike. Even when realizing that help is needed, we can be pretty picky about the form we will accept. But, like Naaman needed to wash seven times in the muddy river Jordan to become cleansed of leprosy (2Kings 5:1-14), we can find others are gifted with ways to help us. Whether by studying science to develop a sleep aid, inventing the radio so we can listen to our favorite songs, or my most current helper – a robot vacuum. My creative mind works best in cleans spaces, yet my creativity tends to create clutter. Thank You, Lord, for inspiring people to create a robot vacuum and so many other helpful tools.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for loving us and supplying us with gifts to serve You while serving others. Give us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts softened and willing to step into chaos to help a neighbor. Help us to recognize and share the gifts that You have provided. Your fingerprints are everywhere. May we share your love with others this week. All the praise, glory and honor belong to You.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
