Drop One Hundred Forty-two
Psalm 67:5
“May the peoples praise You, God; May all the peoples praise You.” (NASB2020).
I recently attended a Women’s Iron Sharpens Iron Conference of Focal Point Ministries. Christine Johnson shared an acrostic for organizing prayer. It is as follows:
P.R.A.I.S.E. Prayer Prompt
o Praise – Praise the Lord! Spend time praising who He is and all He has done in your life.
o Repentance – Spend time in repentance and ask the Lord for His forgiveness in your life for all the things that keep you from God. Get specific with this!
o Acknowledge – Acknowledge God’s right to rule and reign in your life. He is Lord and deserves the rightful place in your heart as you surrender each day to his lordship in your life.
o Intercession – Spend time praying for others. Ask God to lay people specifically on your heart to pray for. This is time to be others focused in your prayer.
o Supplication for Self – Now after getting your heart in the right posture to the Lord, spend time praying for things in your life you need help with or just want to bring to the Lord. Get specific again. Your Father wants to hear your voice and loves that you come to Him in prayer.
o Equip – Ask the Lord to equip you in the world around you. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and to speak to you.
Such a great reminder to praise when we pray. Our Father in Heaven loves His children. Trust Him. Oh, and Shaunti Feldhahn shared the importance of trusting that when others hurt us, unless proven otherwise, it was not intended. Whatever season you are in, God is not surprised and loves to hear from you.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for all that You created. Thank You for Your love and forgiveness demonstrated through Your grace and mercy. Call to mind the sin in our hearts so that we will repent and be cleansed by You. You have already taken the power away from cancelled sin. We need Your strength and courage to let go of what was, to appreciate what is and accept what will be. May Your joy fill our hearts and spill over to those around us.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
