Drop One Hundred Forty-three

Philippians 2:14

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing; so that you will prove yourselves to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you appear as lights in the world” (NASB1995).

It is amazing how easy it is to grumble and complain without realizing it. Sarcasm is a tool I have used to convince myself I don’t complain. Surprise – it is subtle, but it is complaining. For victims of my sarcasm over the years, I apologize and ask for your forgiveness. It is a spikey protective shield I am choosing to lay down and trying not to pick back up. Just as mindfulness helps with healthy eating it is also helpful to capture every thought and control the tongue. Though it is a painful realization, I am thankful for the work of the Holy Spirit within me. Through the grace of God, may I be known as one who speaks the truth in love. I pray the same for each of you.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You. You are the only one deserving of praise. You made us to bring honor and glory to You. Your light shines through our brokenness. We repent of our pride and lack of obedience to You. Forgive us for failing to rejoice in all things. Help us to submit our lives to Your authority and speak the truth in love. You are love. Only through You can we have an abundant life.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
