Drop One Hundred Forty-one

1 Timothy 2:1-6

“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and mankind, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time” (NASB2020).

Isn’t it wonderful to have the prescription for a “tranquil and quiet life”? Social media, news outlets, podcasts, talk shows, etc. are quick to point out the faults of those in authority. With all the division in these United States and other countries throughout the world, isn’t it good to know we can help heal these divisions? These verses offer an urgent request – PRAY. Pray for those in authority – whether the President, Prime Minister, Congressperson, Members of Parliament, Judges, Pastors, bosses, parents, teachers, etc. – Pray for them to fear, love, and trust God. Pray for salvation for every person. Pray for each of us to be obedient to Christ. Pray for freedom from deception. Pray for The Truth to be known. Don’t let praying be a last resort. Let praying be Plan A.

Heavenly Father,

You are The Almighty, Holy, Sovereign, Creator of all. By You, through You and for You were all things made. You are worthy of all glory, honor and praise. We lift up to You our leaders of our countries, businesses, homes, schools, churches and pray each will trust in Christ and obey the promptings of The Holy Spirit. May we do the same. May we let go of all bitterness and love each other well. Forgive us, renew us and lead us so that we will trust in Your will and walk in Your way to the glory of Your Holy Name.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
