Drop Ninety-One
Philippians 1:6
“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” (NASB1995).
Although we moved over a year and a half ago, I am still a member of the book club. The book chosen for the month of June is “Where the Blue Sky Begins” by author Katie Powner. I listened to the book as narrated by Christina Moore. Yes, I already have “consumed” the entire story. The characters are very relatable/realistic, and the storyline is close to my heart. The story is helping me to think through what reconciliation can look like, and steps to take towards reconciliation – before it becomes too late. Life still goes on. The ripple effect of past words, actions and inactions may be perceived differently by involved parties. The image of the stone sinking to the depth may be remembered, and regretted, far longer than ever imagined. Keeping short accounts is very important – offer sincere apologies, restitution, and forgiveness as close to the time of offence as possible. Tomorrow is not promised.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for choosing to reconcile with us through the life, death, and resurrection of your Only Begotten Son, Jesus. Thank You for stories. Thank You for the parables Jesus’ used to teach us simple truths. Thank You for each new day filled with opportunities to serve You and do better. May we release burdens of unforgiveness and embrace the call to love You with all our heart, soul, and mind, and our neighbors as ourselves.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
