Drop One Hundred Thirty-two
1 John 4:11
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (NASB1995).
This year has been interesting. For the first time in my life, I am attending a local AWANA club – as a helper of course. Between things that I am hearing both there, on the radio, and reading I am being confronted with truth on all sides. It is possible to believe without faith. It is possible to be sorrowful without repentance. It is possible to know of Jesus and not know Him. And while we can look at 1 Corinthians 13 to see the characteristics of love, the reality is as 1 John 4:8 states, “The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love”. Do you know Him or just know of Him? May this Valentine’s Day be marked as the day that we repent of our misdeeds and dedicate our hearts and lives to Jesus – whether for the first time or the “umpteenth” time.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being love personified. Without You, there is no love as You are love. We have failed in so many ways, and yet, You patiently work within us. You protect us. You are always faithful and never fail. Create in us clean hearts and renew a right Spirit within us. May we walk in Your ways and be your ambassadors. Without You, we can do nothing. With You, all things are possible. All honor, glory and praise to You alone.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
