Drop One Hundred Thirty-three
John 21:23
“Now there are also many other things that Jesus did. Were every one of them to be written, I suppose that the world itself could not contain the books that would be written” (ESV).
While trying to separate the pages and turn just one, a young person at church questioned why the pages are “so thin”? I explained – if the pages were not thin, the book would be too heavy to lift.
This brief conversation led me to review how many pages were in my Everyday Gospel Bible. It has over 1600 pages from Genesis to Revelation. Over 100 more pages of extras, not counting maps. Realizing that John 21:23 states that there is more that could have been written, I am so very thankful for thin Bible pages. Thankful for the all the word God inspired the writers to write. Cherishing my Bible(s) even more after that short conversation. How about you?
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving us Your Word is so many ways. Written by the prophets and apostles inspired by You, personified in the Life of Christ, and alive in our hearts as The Holy Spirit. May we cherish all we have been given. Thank You for loving us and faithfully working in us to transform us into Your likeness.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
