Drop One Hundred Thirty-five

Romans 3:20 - 21

“Now we know that whatever the Law says, it speaks to those who are under the Law, so that every mouth may be closed and all the world may become accountable to God; because by the works of the Law none of mankind will be justified in His sight; for through the Law comes knowledge of sin” (NASB2020).

While growing up, there was an emphasis on knowing and following “The Ten Commandments”. Memorizing “The Ten Commandments” is definitely the easy part. Following them is impossible in our own strength. Knowing what sin is and acknowledging my own sin before a Holy God is what is asked of me. Jesus came to pay the debt of sin for all mankind. God loves us so much that He not only sent His Son to live the perfect life, die on our behalf, and rise again on the third day, but also sends the gift of His Holy Spirit to reside in the hearts of those who believe. Jesus is quoted in John 10:10 saying, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came so that they would have life, and have it abundantly” (NASB2020). Do you just know of Him, or do you know Him?

Heavenly Father,

Only You are deserving of our praise. Only You love us more than any other. It is only by Your grace that we exist at all. Thank You for loving us. You are faithful, patient, and sovereign. We put our trust in You alone. There is nothing that we can do to change our fate but trust You. We bring to You our sins in exchange for Your righteousness. Help us to demonstrate Your love for us through love for each other.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
