Drop One Hundred Ten
Psalms 27:14
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord” (NASB1995).
“The Waiting Place” is defined by Dr. Seuss in his book “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” as “a most useless place”. While waiting can be difficult, silence can be deafening, and monotony of the same stuff different day can curb creativity, waiting is not useless. Waiting can be a time of education, development of community, and tapping into creativity. It can be filled with meditating on scripture, gardening or even learning how to preserve food via canning (yep, working on these). Sometimes rushing results in getting stuck – like when your vehicle gets stuck in a muddy terrain and just keeps spitting up dirt with every turn of the wheel and sinking deeper into the muck. There comes a point when something different is needed to develop some traction to become unstuck. Prayer is a good starting point as is inlisting the help of others.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for joining us on our journeys – and helping us back to the path You have for us. Thank You for loving us and helping us out of our troubles – even when they are self-inflicted. Help each of us to acknowledge our failings, confess them to You, receive your forgiveness and be filled with The Holy Spirit. May our hearts be unified as we seek to please You with each choice we make going forward. Your kingdom come, Your will be done.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
