Proverbs 16:2
“All the ways of a person are clean in his own sight, But the LORD examines the motives” (NASB2020).
We have been working on another puzzle lately. It is amazing how often a piece looks like it belongs and fits in with another piece yet does not mesh with the ones meant to be in the same area. Upon closer inspection, it belongs just one or two pieces away from where it had been placed. There have been many times in life that I have been like a misplaced piece – appearing to belong but just not quite where I need to be for the bigger picture to develop. Misplacements occur when the mind is tired and looks at the shape and color of the piece but miss the pattern of the colors in comparison to determine correct placement. Often, it is just the selfish desire to secure a piece in place. Either way, it is not placed where the creator of the puzzle intended it to go. Just as I often do not choose what my Creator intended for me, at this time, and in this place. Thankfully, He is patient and allows me to humbly return to Him to correct my steps.
Father in Heaven,
Thank You for walking with us and directing our steps. Forgive us for our missteps and thank You for choosing to welcome us home when we humbly return to You. May our hearts have fertile soil within to grow seeds of faith. Please grant us the wisdom and the words to share our faith, given by You, with others to the Glory of Your Holy Name.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
