Proverbs 16:3

“Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established” (NASB2020).

This has been quite a week. Very little of it maintained my most recent routine. Yes, procrastination is often my “middle name”; however, since today is Friday, it is feeling more like my identity. I am wearing a shirt that was given to me by a former coworker. It states, “DON’T RUSH ME. I’M WAITING FOR THE LAST MINUTE”. It was given in jest to remind me of my former coworkers, but so often declares a truth about me. And often it is not that I am wanting to wait until the last minute. I just get caught up in distractions sometimes that interfere with working toward the goal. Typically, that happens when I forget to pray first.

Father in Heaven,

You are worthy of so much more than we have to offer. Today we choose to commit our work to You. We know Your plans are better, greater, and more beneficial than ours. Thank You for the gifts and talents that You have given us. We pray our use of them will bring honor and glory to You. Thank You for providing for us and protecting us as we live and serve You. We confess the ways in which we have failed You this week and ask for cleansing and fresh filling of the Holy Spirit within.

In the name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
