Proverbs 21:2

“Every person’s way is right in his own eyes,

But the LORD examines the hearts” (NASB2020).

This year I read Shaunti Feldhahn’s “The Kindness Challenge” and signed up for the reminder emails. Nothing opened my eyes more to how selfish I can be than the Kindness Challenge. Being “kind” is different than being “nice”. Kindness is honest, gentle, and extends from a heart filled with love and reverence for God. Niceness is often a covering for fear, awkwardness, and filled with “people pleasing” tendencies. I have been nice for far too long. This season of life has allowed more consistent reading and applying of God’s Word. I am so thankful for the changes occurring in my heart and life. Praying to be known as kind going forward.

Father in Heaven,

Thank You for your patience and faithfulness. Thank You for blessing us even when we misstep. Thank You for walking with us through the valleys of life and preparing us to become blessings to others. May we praise You for You alone are worthy of all praise. Help us release our desires and choose what You desire for us. May Your loving kindness flow through us so others will come to know You.

In the name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
