Drop One Hundred Sixty-Four

John 3:16 - 18

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him. The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has be judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God” (NASB2020).

The past few weeks have been challenging. I am so thankful for prayer partners that understand the urgent need for prayer, even when the request is unspoken. As difficult as it is to be under the scrutiny of fellow humans, how much more to be scrutinized by The Almighty Himself! Yet, all are under the judgement of God until they believe in the Son of God, Jesus. “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor or the will of man, but of God” (John 1:12-13). People pleasing is exhausting and impossible. Expecting others to change to please myself is idol worship. Choosing to please and praise God changes perspectives and fosters peace and joy. He chose us. He is just waiting for us to choose Him.  

Father in Heaven,

Thank You for providing peace in the midst of sorrow and trials. Thank You for faithfully pursuing and also waiting for us to choose You. Fill us again with the Holy Spirit. Protect us from distractions interfering with meditating on Your Word. Help us to take every thought captive and replace the lies we tell ourselves with the Truth of Your Word. This week, provide for us at least one person to share how You have been working in our lives.
