Drop One Hundred Seventeen

Luke 10:41-42

“‘Martha, Martha,’ the Lord answered, ‘you are worried and bothered about so many things, but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.’” (NASB1995).

They say, “be careful what you wish/pray for…” Well, work did start this week – Yea!! But being the overachiever/people pleaser that I am, my inner “Martha” went into overdrive. I had great restraint at work (or so I think); however, at home I just directed too many cares and did too many things leaving those around me frozen and wondering if they should or even could do anything. Which led to frustration like what Martha expressed just before Jesus addressed her as above. I did some reflecting and problem solving to decrease the perceived dependence on my assistance. We are all adults here. Just as the Lord is working on and within me, I must trust is He is working similarly with those around me. I requested, asked and received forgiveness from those I offended. I even thanked the one that “called me out” and led me to reflect and repent. Rough week. Good week. An extra hour of rest this weekend. Praise be to God!!

Heavenly Father,

Oh Lord, thank You for knowing what we need before we ask, yet waiting for us to ask before revealing Your provision. Thank You for Your patience, grace, faithfulness, and correction. May we remember to spend time in Your presence each day and trust Your guidance. May we ask for Your intervention throughout the day and express gratitude. Help us to be more like Mary in Luke 10.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
