Drop One Hundred Fifty-Three
1 Thessalonians 5:16 – 21
“Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit; do not despise prophetic utterances. But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good; abstain from every form of evil.” (NASB1995).
Ever wonder what God’s will is for you? Reread the verse above. Even in the midst of trials, we are to rejoice, continue to pray and give thanks. I love the song by Emerson Day, “God Ain’t Finished Yet” which states, “If I am still here then You’re not done.” We are still here. And the Lord is transforming our hearts, minds, and lives. Each day I see changes in us and those around us. He is preparing us for a glorious future. Praying for His will to prevail in all things and protect us from the evil one.
Father in Heaven,
You alone are Holy. All glory, honor, and praise belong to You. If there is any wicked way in us, bring it to mind so we can confess and repent. Cleanse our hearts and mind and conform us to the image of Your Son. Thank You for loving us and choosing to have mercy and offer your grace in exchange for our brokenness. Thank You for choosing to save us from ourselves. May we be people who pray and share your love with others.
In the name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
