Drop Ninety-Seven
Joshua 1:8
“This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have success” (NASB1995).
Which is better once a mistake is recognized: “If only …” the path of regret? or “Oh, well, …” the path of acceptance? Both have pros and cons. And it may be best not to make it an “either/or” but a “both/and”. Regret helps us recognize what was done and learn a way to not repeat the offence going forward, while acceptance helps us to acknowledge and move forward. It is best not to dwell on either, but to study the Bible and apply what is learned.
Today is a day of regret but also a day of acceptance and new beginnings. As stated just a couple weeks ago, the opportunity to begin again is ever before us. Time to start the journey, again.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for allowing us to fail and try again. Thank You for the strength and courage to start again. Help us meditate on your Word and serve You better each day. And when we don’t, may we have the courage to humble ourselves, repent and begin again.
In the Name of Jesus we pray,
AMEN
