Isaiah 9:6

For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us: And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”

Matthew 1:21

“She will bear a Son; and you shall call His name Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”

Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Acts 4:12

“And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved” (NASB1995).

The season of Christmas can bring with it a mixed bag of emotions. I am sure over of the past few weeks we have each grown impatient with our fellow man. Hopefully, it was probably tempered with better understanding and a graciousness that is often missing the rest of the year. Thankfully, God is gracious and patient with us. So much so that after 400 hundred years of prayers from His people, He fulfilled His promise of a Savior. There is nothing we can do to earn His love. There is nothing we can do to earn or keep salvation. He offers it freely to those who believe. All He asks is that we accept His gift and abide in Him, and He will abide in us. How do we do that – read, know, and follow His commandments as shared in the Holy Bible.

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for this time of year – an opportunity to openly express love to You and our fellow man with a bit less scrutiny. May we be sensitive to promptings from the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel message with those around us. May we be ambassadors living out Your will. Forgive us when we stumble. May the hearts around us be ready for The Truth. And may we be honest with ourselves and others. We all make mistakes. You are ready to help heal us from the consequences of them. May we accept Your plan and trust You.

In the Name of Jesus we pray,

AMEN
